The Punjab School Education Department has sought permission from the government to announce summer vacations from June 1 keeping in view the weather forecast warning of searing heatwaves in coming months. The School Education Department forwarded a summary in this regard to the Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. According to Education Secretary Khalid Nazeer Wattoo, summer vacations can start early due to heatwave warnings. “We have forwarded a summary to the CM Office for the final decision on the summer vacations,” he added. Meanwhile, parents have complained that despite heatwave alarms there was no reduction in the timings of the schools. “Government should move fast and reduction the school timings,” they added. The parents also demanded early announcement of the schedule of the summer vacations.
