LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday said that the coup attempt in Turkey was a conspiracy against progress and prosperity of the masses which the Turkish people had foiled through their unity and spirit of patriotism.
In a statement here, he felicitated Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Prime Minister Binali Yildirim and other leaders over the failure of the conspiracy against democracy. He said that it was a proof of the fact that the Turkish people deeply loved President Erdogan and were committed to democracy.
He said that the Turkish people had practically proved their commitment to the concept of rule of people as well as the fact that Recep Tayyip Erdogan was a public leader. He said that the way Turkish people saved democracy had proved their faith in democratic system and the leadership of the president.
The chief minister said that the government and the people of Pakistan were with the government and the people of Turkey and fully supported democracy and democratic institution and the government in Turkey.
